FAQs

What kind of Wax do you use?

We use a blend of all natural Coconut Soy wax which is gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and comes from renewable sources. The entire blend utilizes only FDA approved waxes.

What are the benefits of using Coconut Soy wax?

The Coconut Soy wax is a renewable, biodegradable resource that produces less soot and has a longer burn time than paraffin wax. It is environmentally friendly and releases no harmful toxins into the air.

What do you scent your candles with?

In all of our products, we only use clean, high quality fragrance oils, free of dyes, propellants, hazardous phthalates and other synthetic ingredients.

What kind of Wicks do you use?

We use multiple kinds of wicks depending on the item.
These include, cotton core wicks, flat braid and threaded cotton wicks. All wick types have various purposes and benefits ranging from rigidity to keep the wick centered to soot and smoke resistant properties. We do not use any lead wicks.

Are your candles suitable for vegans?

Yes. We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in any of our products.

How long do your candles burn?

7 oz candles burn up to 48 – 55 hours.

0.5 oz samplers burn up to 3 hours.

Do I really need to trim the wick?

For the most part yes. You should trim the wick when it needs to be trimmed. If you see a carbon mushroom on top the wick, it definitely should be trimmed, or if the wick seems very long. When trimming, you should trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting your candle. Or, at any point your flame is getting too large and you are seeing smoke or suit, simply extinguish the flame, trim and re-light.

If you do not keep your wick trimmed, problems can occur. Wicks of all candles can mushroom at the top which can lead to excessive flickering, smoke, and/or soot. Keeping your wick trimmed also makes your candle safer and last longer.

My candle is leaving lots of wax on the sides of the container after burning it. Why?

The first time you burn your candle, burn it for approximately 3 to 4 hours, or until the top layer of wax is completely melted across the top of the jar. This will not only maximize the fragrance throw, but also help avoid “tunneling”— where the candle burns down the middle, leaving wax around the edges. Make sure to keep your candle away from drafts or moving air – moving air disturbs the flame and can lead to an uneven burn.

A little "hang-up" is normal especially towards the top and middle of the candle. It typically will catch up.

Why is there a mushroom bloom head on my wick after burning?

A carbon buildup, otherwise known as a "mushroom" can happen with any kind of wick and wax. It is most common in highly fragranced candles as the fragrance oil travels up the wick while it burns. It is completely normal, however, it needs to be removed by trimming the wick before relighting as mentioned above.

In a way, the mushroom head is a nice reminder to trim the wick. Please remember to give the candle plenty of time to cool and harden before attempting to trim the wick as you do not want wick debris falling into the wax.

How can I burn my candles safely?
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended
  • Burn candle out of reach of children & pets
  • Trim wick to ¼ inch before lighting
  • Never burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time
  • Don’t burn candles close together: always leave at least 10cm between burning candles
  • Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire
  • Do not place candles in a draught
  • Keep the wax pool clear of any debris to avoid flaring
  • Never move a burning candle. Glass containers can get very hot during use.
  • Do not burn your candles when there is only a ½” of wax remaining.
What if I really don't like the fragrance I ordered? Can I return it?

Unfortunately, unless there is a defect in the candle, we typically do not provide exchanges based on individual fragrance preferences. Each person has a unique sense of smell and personal preference, so we hope you can understand this policy. However, please keep in mind that candles can be excellent gifts, and even if a particular scent doesn't appeal to you, it is likely to be enjoyed by a friend, co-worker, or family member. We make sure to include detailed fragrance profiles and notes in each product description to assist you in making an informed decision.

Also, we offer 0.5oz samplers of all our fragrances that would allow you to get an idea of the scents before making any larger purchases.

Can I refill or re-use my candle jars and containers when they are empty?

Because glass weakens as it accumulates bumps and scratches from use, we do not recommend refilling our jars for re-use as a candle. However, you can use the jar to pot a plant or use them as holders for all kinds of things around your home. We'd love to see how you reused our jar! You can take a photo and share it on out Instagram @puredaisyca

How long before my order ships?

Most orders ship within 2 days assuming the items were in stock, there were no changes to the order, and depending on shipping service selected during checkout if applicable. If unforeseen circumstances result in any delay, we will contact you accordingly.
